We are always on the look out for woodworking superstars to join the growing team at Bywater Design.
Our busy workshop is located in Boondall, 4034 in north Brisbane. The small team supports Stuart Bywater across all facets of the company; custom furniture making, restoration and repairs and all things Bywater Surf.
If you are interested in pursuing a career within the woodcraft industry - we'd love to hear from you. Previous experience in woodwork or furniture making is desired but not necessary.

1st Year Apprentice Woodwork/Furniture Maker
An exciting opportunity exists within our company for an enthusiastic woodworker/furniture maker at Bywater Design, located in North Brisbane, Boondall. We are seeking a 1st year apprentice or someone interested in undertaking an apprenticeship. We specialise in custom furniture to repairs & restoration for a variety of clients.
Be a part of a small team, learning from master craftsman with over 30 years experience and build lifelong skills from the ground up. You'll be working with a range of different timbers, techniques and machinery. This role requires hard work, attention to detail, an enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic.
To be a part of our team you will need to have the following:
- A strong interest in woodcraft and furniture making/restoration
- Ability to work hard and not be afraid of getting dirty
- Drivers licence
- The ability to be a part of a team as well as able to work autonomously when required
- Be comfortable with lifting heavy items at times
- Thrives on a job well done
- 100% reliability
- Monday - Friday availability
- Adhere to workplace health & safety standards
Recent school leavers / all ages are encouraged to apply for this full-time position. No previous experience is required, but an interest and passion for woodcraft are necessary. The position is available for immediate start.
This will be an excellent opportunity for the right person to join our hard-working team and gain valuable hands-on experience within the woodwork and furniture-making industry.
