Go bigger with a Bywater SUP

We love making our hollow wooden surfboards of all shapes and sizes here at Bywater Surf, so when we challenged ourself to make a Stand Up Paddle board a few years ago we were delighted with the result. They've since been taken out on the water from Sunshine Coast to Currumbin with great success and endless fun (even for our furry companion). 

Since developing the plans for the SUP, we have held a handful of SUP specific courses at our workshop in Brisbane with each student thrilled with their new ride.

Our SUP's are made from paulownia timber, using a similar structure to our hollow wooden surfboards.The sizing of our SUP's are 9'6" or 10'3", weighting in at approx 1kg per foot, resulting in a very buoyant but sturdy weight. We developed a custom made timber handle to carry the board with ease. 

While we don't have a Stand Up Paddle Board kit listed on the Wooden Surfboard Shop yet, we are definitely able to create a custom order for you if you are interested in getting stuck into SUP making.

If you would rather make your SUP in our workshop with the guidance of Stuart, we are taking expressions of interest for a dedicated SUP class in 2022.
