Bywater Surfboard Academy announces the line up of board making course dates for 2023. 

During the last 12 months, we have experienced the stoke in and out of the workshop, sharing our love for wooden surfboard making and we’ve excited to offer four opportunities throughout the year ahead. Come join us in the workshop to make your dream board.

Hollow wooden surfboard making Course dates for 2023 are; 

March/April 30th, 31st, 1st, 2nd 

June 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th 

August 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th 

October 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th 

Brisbane’s only wooden surfboard making course is located in Boondall, 25 mins from the CBD, running from a Thursday through to a Sunday. 

Participants will craft their very own wooden surfboard - no matter what their skill level or woodworking experience. All materials are provided, with a complete board all shaped by Day 4, ready to be glassed by Stuart.

Spots are limited with a maximum class size of 6, so we recommending booking in early. Contact us for an Info pack to see the selection of boards available to make. 

In addition to our signature surfboard making, we are offering our exciting Stand Up Paddle boarding course for an exclusive intake next year. For those that prefer to ride a SUP or a past board student seeking a new ride, this is a great opportunity to try something new. Email us with your expression of interest for our proposed date of September 6th - 9th. 

Our surf board kits are available year round for you to bring the workshop experience into your home, on your own timeframe. With a selection of 8 different boards and 3 pattern styles, there is a surfboard for everyone. All kits come with a comprehensive instruction guide to help you from A to Z in surfboard making.
