We had the pleasure of welcoming a lovely father-daughter-daughter trio into the workshop for a Bywater Surf 4 Day Board Making course, all walking away with a great bonding experience, new skills and 3 unique boards to have lots of fun together for years to come.

Whether it be fathers & sons or mums & daughters our courses are fit for any family dynamic. Half the battle is making sure you don’t make the same board so you can come out with a variety of Bywater Surfboards in the family! However no two boards are the same and with our range of patterns and timber selections, each board carries its own unique flair. The memories of building your own wooden surfboard will be engrained as much as the memories you acquire after the board is made. 

If minimum numbers are met and bookings made in advance, Bywater Surf can cater for group bookings or corporate teams - just reach out to us and we can discuss how we can make your groups’ surfboard making dreams come true. 

The majority of our students are individuals with a drive to unite woodwork and surfing together, coming into a course solo but walking out with new formed friendships and an extra surfing buddy. It is heart warming to see people bond over 4 days whilst honing into beautiful and rewarding woodcraft techniques.
