Beat the winter blues and craft a surfboard

We’re in the thick of winter, which can often leave us dreaming of warmer days and salty oceans. If the first half of the year is anything to go by, the next half will fly by just as fast. Soon enough we’ll be leaving the steamer at home and enjoying the summer swells.

How about warming up the winter bones with some woodwork and surfboard crafting at the Bywater Surf workshop? You’ll have a brand new hollow wooden surfboard to enjoy, ready for the glorious spring time and many seasons to come. We can’t think of a better way to spend a tax return. We have spots open on our August and October 4 day board making courses and then that will be a wrap for surfboard making til 2023. Conveniently running over 4 consecutive days (Thur - Sun) at our Boondall workshop, students are fully guided by expert Stuart in crafting the work of art that is a timber surfboard. No experience is necessary, just enthusiasm for creating the surfboard of your dreams. Class sizes are kept small to ensure hands on guidance, you’ll meet some new friends and walk away with a new set of skills.
