AFLOAT Magazine features our superstar staff member, Nathan
Our superstar employee Nathan had the pleasure of sharing a glimpse into his woodworking journey with AFLOAT magazine. He is featured in their 'Young Guns' column (proving that you can start an apprenticeship at any age) in the April 2023 issue.
AFLOAT is a monthly Australian print with all things marine and boating. We crossed paths whilst at the Australian Wooden Boat Festival in Tassie recently.
Nathan is fundamental in our Bywater Surf endeavours, from packing surf kit orders to guiding students in our surfboarding making classes. He shares a love of surfing and the ocean with Stu, making for a dynamic and enjoyable duo.

“It’s a buzz making a board that is a sustainable, beautiful and functional piece of art. The boards come out looking amazing, and no two are alike!”

After many years in the hospitality industry, Nathan decided to pursue his passion for woodworking, a true testament to following your passions.
It's been an honour having Nathan join us for his apprenticeship and become a valued member of the Bywater team.
We look forward to celebrating the end of a hard-earned apprenticeship with Nathan very soon. Thanks Nathan for your hard work and for championing our wooden surfboards with ease.

“I would like to see wooden surfboards become more of a mainstream product; they are awesome fun to ride - very different to a foam board.”
